All winter homeowners know the damage that can be caused to their roof and their home if they let the snow build up too high on their roof. And removing this built up snow on the roof can be a real pain.
However, these new roof rakes are very efficient at getting to and removing the snow off the roof. But some snow roof rakes are better than others.
Under review is the Minnsnowta Dynamo Roof Razor Snow Roof Rake. This is an easy to use roof rake that comes with…
- A dual cutting action
- An ergonomic design
- Industrial quality construction
- Four six foot snap together poles for a full 24 foot reach
- A one year manufacturer’s warranty
You will find the Minnsnowta Dynamo Roof Razor Snow Roof Rake online at several different stores for around $120; and the shipping is usually paid for by the seller.
We ordered the Minnsnowta Dynamo from Amazon, and it arrived in four days. Assembly was very easy with this snow roof rake; there are two 7/16 bolts that secure the rake head to the end of the slotted pole. And there is a bungee attachment that allow you to keep the poly snow slide tight as well.
The instructions are clear and concise, and the Minnsnowta Dynamo was ready to go in under ten minutes.
Minnsnowta Dynamo Roof Razor Snow Roof Rake – Completely Different From Other Snow Roof Rakes
The Minnsnowta Dynamo is advertised as the easiest snow roof rake to use; and that claim is not far from the truth.
The Minnsnowta is made out of lightweight, heavy gauge aluminum, and when fully extended with attachments in place, it weighs in at a little more than 13 pounds.
This is heavier than other snow roof rakes; but the difference is that you ware not picking up the Minnsnowta Dynamo and re-positioning it on the roof.
Instead, the Dynamo uses an attached “snow chute” that is on the bottom of the aluminum extension poles; and you simply lay this snow roof rake on the roof and give it an easy push.
The double cutting edge of the Minnsnowta rake head allows the Dynamo to undercut the deep or drifted snow. This loosens the snow on the roof, and the snow collapses under its own weight onto the attached poly snow chute, and the snow begins avalanching off the roof, onto the snow chute, and then onto the ground.
The Minnsnowta Dynamo is created out of industrial strength aluminum, and the extensions are very easy to snap together using the “snap pin” connectors on the ends of each pole.
It works equally well on roofs with a shallow pitch, goes around dormers and angles with ease, and is safe enough to use on metal or tile roofs as well as normal shingle roofs.
And poly wheels mounted on the bottom of the rake head keep the Minnsnowta Dynamo from actually making contact with the roof, so there is no damage to the roof whatsoever.
Because you are not re-positioning this roof rake and then pulling the rake towards you like traditional snow roof rakes, the Dynamo is very easy to use; and you will not be left with throbbing shoulders and sore forearms like you may have experienced with other roof rakes.
The Minnsnowta Dynamo uses a simple, easy push; and then lets gravity take over for you so that removing the snow from your roof could not be easier.
Minnsnowta Dynamo Roof Razor Snow Roof Rake – Things We Discovered Using This Snow Roof Rake
Because of its different design, it takes a little getting used to.
Do not stand directly under the Dynamo as you first start using it or you will be buried in snow. Instead, stand off at an angle so the snow can cascade off the poly snow chute onto the ground.
And don’t use the Dynamo if your roof edge is more than 18 feet high; you will have to break out a ladder for that so you can get the Dynamo positioned correctly with the snow chute.
However, as you use the Minnsnowta Dynamo Roof Razor Snow Roof Rake, you will quickly see that it is a superior design that makes removing the snow from your roof as easy as possible.
And this industrial strength snow roof rake should last you for years to come; it could very well be the last snow roof rake you ever purchase.
