The Garelick 89421 aluminum roof rake is a really well built, strong, yet lightweight roof rake that does a great job getting the built up snow off of your roof.
The poles are made out of heavy gauge aluminum for extra strength; which is mandatory when trying to remove ice crusted or heavy wet snow. The non slip grip on the bottom of the handle is very effective; even when the handle is wet or you are wearing heavy mittens, you will not lose your grip.
The 24 inch by 7 inch blade makes it easy to remove a lot of snow with every pull. And the blade design on the Garelick 89421 roof rake was well thought out.
It has an additional two support struts attaching the non stick blade to the handle; which gives this roof rake extra strength when pulling wet snow or heavy, ice encrusted packs.
And the blade uses the patented Garelick “Shingle Saver” rollers on the bottom of the blade.
These are two poly/plastic rollers that rotate at the bottom of the blade; so the Garelick 89421 never actually touches your roof or shingles (ideal for shake roofs or newly shingled homes).
And with the easy snap together handle extensions, you can transform this into a full 21 foot roof rake. So you can reach those areas of the roof that would not be accessible with a shorter roof rake.
And even at full extension, the Garelick roof rake may be unwieldy; but at 6 pounds it is light enough to be used on a ladder, and you can still get it positioned where you want after a few tries.
