If you live in a cold climate with even average snowfall every year, you need to consider the advantages of getting a snow removal roof rake.
You need to eliminate the snow build up on your roof to prevent roof damage from the sheer weight of the snow, as well as eliminate any water pooling that can create small ponds of standing water that can start leaking into your home.
Under review is the Garant GPRR24 Yukon 24-Inch Poly Blade Aluminum Handle Snow Roof Rake With A 16-Foot Reach. Every Garant GPRR24 Yukon is….
- Ideal for removing snow from roofs, awnings and tarps
- Crafted from high quality lightweight aluminum
- Has an extendable handle that reaches 16 feet.
- A light weight 24 inch poly/plastic blade that won’t damage your roof
You should be able to find this Garant GPRR24 Yukon online for under $50; and most of the time the shipping is included in the purchase price.
We ordered ours, and the shipping was very quick as it arrived in two days. Assembly was quick and a “no brainer”; it merely consisted of connecting the handle pieces together, and attaching the 24 inch wide blade at the end.
The Garant GPRR24 Yukon 24-Inch Poly Blade Aluminum Snow Roof Rake – Lightweight But Strong
The Garant GPRR24 roof rake is light weight and easy to use; even with the handle completely assembled.
When fully extended, the Garant Yukon roof rake weighs in at a mere 2 pounds, and the 2 inch diameter handle is ergonomically designed for an easy grip; even with gloves on. And with the nice, easy grip finish, it doesn’t slip out of your hands as the snow melts and the handle gets wet.
The aluminum pole construction is pretty strong, even when fully extended; and the 24 inch wide poly/plastic blade at the end of the pole grabs a lot of snow at every pass; yet because of its design, the shingles on your roof will not be damaged in the leas. Plus, it is safe enough to use even on metal or copper roofs without any damage whatsoever.
Adding the extensions to the Garant GPRR24 is easy as well, and with a full 16 foot reach, the Garant Yukon roof rake should have more than adequate reach for most homes. You also have the option of ordering additional extensions for the Garant GPRR24 roof rake if your house is two stories or exceptionally tall.
It is very effective at removing both fresh, dry powder snow, as well as the heavy wet snow that comes in early fall and late spring. And the scoop of the rake is angled perfectly to remove the snow in one pass.
GPRR24 Yukon 24-Inch Poly Blade Snow Roof Rake – Make No Mistake, It’s Still Works
No matter what type of roof rake you purchase, it is still going to be work getting the built up snow off of your roof.
The Garant GPRR24 roof rake just makes it a little easier.
The only negative I could find with this high quality roof rake is that when fully extended, it does get a little wobbly and hard to control the placement of the blade.
But this is to be expected with any long handled snow roof rake; and you can gain a little more control by using a ladder, and removing one of the extensions.
The Garant snow roof rake’s ergonomic handles design lessens the strain on your shoulders and forearms a little compared to other roof rakes we have used…. But you’re still going to get a workout.
However, it does its primary function extremely well… getting the built up snow off of your roof.
For the price, quality of construction, and ease of use, the GPRR24 Yukon 24-Inch Poly Blade Snow Roof Rake is one of the better roof rakes available on the market.
Just make sure that you order this snow roof rake in early fall; or you may find it on back order.
